Optimization of Pre-Splitting Blasting Hole Network Parameters and Engineering Applications in Open Pit Mine

Abstract: In order to optimize the parameters of a pre-splitting blasting hole network, taking an open-pit mine in Inner Mongolia as the engineering background, the numerical models of different pore sizes and hole spacing were established by LS-DYNA software. The stress wave propagation law, peak stress change and rock fracture state under various working conditions were analyzed. The optimization formula of a hole network relationship was proposed and verified on site. The results show that the shock wave generated by… Show more

“…The paper Optimization of Pre-Splitting Blasting Hole Network Parameters and Engineering Applications in Open Pit Mine [9] was aimed at modelling different pore sizes and hole spacing to optimize the parameters of a pre-splitting blasting hole network at an openpit mine in Inner Mongolia. The authors used numerical simulation software to model the stress propagation, strain change, and the evolution of main cracks and wing cracks between holes, achieving a formula to calculate the optimal hole diameter and hole spacing.…”

“…Hence, in some cases, the solution seems to be difficult [13]. Domestic and foreign scholars use mathematical methods, numerical simulation, field tests, similar simulation tests, theoretical analysis, and other methods to study the blasting parameters, including the blasting effect, damage degree, blasting safety, pre-cracking, and other aspects [14,15].…”

“…Wang, Z.Y. et al [15][16][17] used an Inner Mongolia LS-DYNA software was used to establish a numerical model with different hole diameters and spacing, and an optimisation formula for the hole network relationship was proposed and validated in the field. After blasting, the slope was smooth and flat, and the half-hole rate was guaranteed to be above 90%.…”
