“…The degradation efficiencies of AAP and NPX decreased in the following order: 1000 kHz TiO 2 -NTs (60.1% and 72.4%) > 1000 kHz (47.0% and 54.7%) > 28 kHz TiO 2 -NTs (31.4% and 46.8%) > 28 kHz (27.3% and 15.9%). These results could be attributed to (i) the electron promotion from the valence band into the conduction band, releasing electron-hole pairs as a photocatalyst due to the formation of light which is a wide wavelength range from ultrasonic reaction [17] and (ii) a ''hot spot'' (105-106°C) phenomenon from ultrasonic cavitation in water [11,32]. According to those two mechanisms with TiO 2 -NTs under ultrasonic reaction, the valence band hole reacts directly with both PhACs and water.…”

“…RSM is an empirical statistical technology that aims to reveal the relationship between independent and dependent variables using linear regression to determine the best conditions of parameters, and it can also reflect the interactive effects between multiple single factors (Bas and Boyaci, 2007;Garg et al, 2008;Pang et al, 2011). RSM can develop, improve and optimize the complex processes and evaluate the magnitude of various influencing parameters (Alim et al, 2008;Tan et al, 2008;Bashi et al, 2012;Hill and Hunter, 1966).…”

“…Response surface methodology (RSM) is a powerful experimental design tool [23] and has been successfully employed for the statistical analysis of different systems, some of which related to the corrosion field; for example RSM was used to evaluate the conditions for the high-dose polyphosphate inhibition in reducing copper release [24]. The feasibility of using a higher dosage of polyphosphate was of interest because it could reduce copper release from corroded copper pipes within a short period by forming the protective film.…”
