Paenibacillus relictisesami sp. nov., isolated from sesame oil cake

Abstract: A facultatively anaerobic, Gram-stain-positive, rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain KB0549 T , was isolated from sesame oil cake. Cells were motile, round-ended rods, and produced central or terminal spores. The cell wall peptidoglycan contained meso-diaminopimelic acid as the diamino acid. The major fatty acids were anteiso-C 15 : 0 and anteiso-C 17 : 0 . The DNA G+C content of strain KB0549 T was 51.9 mol%. On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequence phylogeny, strain KB0549 T was affiliated with the genus Pa… Show more

“…The diamino acid in the peptidoglycan is meso -diaminopimelic acid, and the major cellular fatty acid is anteiso-C 15 : 0 (Ash et al , 1993; Shida et al , 1997). Novel species of the genus have been isolated recently from various sources, including compost (Ueda et al , 2013), food (Shimoyama et al , 2014), lake water (Wu et al , 2013), root nodules (Carro et al , 2013, 2014), plants (Kong et al , 2013; Tonouchi et al , 2014), the rhizosphere (Son et al , 2014; Zhang et al , 2013), rock (Guo et al , 2014), sediment (Lee et al , 2013) and soil (Dsouza et al , 2014; Li et al , 2014a, b; Xiang et al , 2014; Yao et al , 2014).…”

“…(http://www.bacterio.net/paenibacillus.html). Among all the species, most species are either mesophilic (Enright et al , 2003; Kim et al , 2014; Lim et al , 2006; Saha et al , 2005) or thermophilic (Li et al , 2014; Shimoyama et al , 2014; Yao et al , 2014), with the exception of three psychrophilic species, Paenibacillus macquariensis (Marshall & Ohye, 1966), Paenibacillus glacialis (Kishore et al , 2010) and Paenibacillus darwinianus (Dsouza et al , 2014). In this study, we isolated a psychrophilic strain, SSB001 T , closely related to these species, which belongs to a novel species of genus Paenibacillus for which we propose the name Paenibacillus tibetensis sp.…”
