The following paper describes a feasibility study of butt joining friction stir welding between aluminum alloy AA6016 and magnesium alloys AZ91 and AM50. Because of the variety of inimitable properties according to lightweight design and constructions, the interest in aluminum and magnesium alloys is increasing in many fields of industry. Due to the low solubility of aluminum in magnesium and inverse, these alloys tend to the formation of intermetallic phases during the joining process. This leads to an increasing micro hardness within the seam, which should be avoided. By the use of joining methods with low process temperatures, the formation of intermetallic phases is reduced. According to this circumstance, friction stir welding is an excellent alternative to fusion welding techniques used to join this alloys. The main welding process variables were exposed in the studies of similar butt joints of Al/Al and Mg/Mg. These were examined in connection to their transferability to the dissimilar joints and tailored blanks. Furthermore, the influence of different tool geometry on seam quality was investigated. The effect of process variables (mainly welding speed and revolution speed) were correlated to the results of tensile strength test. The welded samples were assayed in the presence of intermetallic phases.

Due to the limitation of resources, the need to foster the developments and the lack of some competencies internally, companies are forced to cooperate with external agents, like other companies and universities, as suggested by the Open Innovation paradigm. Although there are lots of studies dealing with partner selection factors in alliances in the firm level, few studies are devoted to understand the specific demands of the task, in the project level, considered it the theoretical gap to be addressed in this study. The paper analyzes the partner selection factors in bilateral alliances projects, accordingly to the type of the partner and the type of innovation project. The data come from the case study in one Brazilian petrochemical company, analyzing in-depth 20 alliances projects with different partnerscompetitors, customers, suppliers, universities; and embodying different innovativeness degree-incremental innovation, platforms, breakthrough and basic science. Founded on the resources based view background, it was possible to identify the more prevalent selecting factors and alliances characteristics depending on the partner type and project type. The theoretical background jointly with the qualitative evidences enabled the building of theoretical propositions to be tested in future quantitative researches.

O objetivo deste trabalho consistiu em apresentar um modelo conceitual que auxilie no entendimento do fenômeno de cooperação tecnológica Universidade-Empresa (U-E) em parques tecnológicos. A pesquisa se baseou na metodologia de estudo de casos múltiplos, de natureza exploratória e qualitativa, tendo como instrumentos de coleta de dados roteiros de entrevista semiestruturada, corroborados por levantamento de dados secundários documentais. Foram realizadas a análise de conteúdo dos dados obtidos nas entrevistas e a análise documental dos dados secundários. A pesquisa de campo foi realizada com representantes das empresas do parque tecnológico Tecnopuc e pesquisadores da universidade Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUC-RS), e compreendeu três processos selecionados de cooperação, desdobrados em seis entrevistas. Como resultado, pode-se aplicar o modelo conceitual e observar que ainda existem elementos que podem ser adicionados à taxonomia proposta, no que diz respeito a motivadores, barreiras/facilitadores e à caracterização da cooperação U-E, bem como reconhecer a importância das ligações informais que ocorrem dentro do espaço do parque tecnológico e demonstrar o modelo conceitual desenvolvido como proposta para aplicação em estudos futuros sobre a temática de cooperação U-E.
