Pemberdayaan masyarakat desa ini dalam rangka Program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Membangun Desa yang dilakukan untuk masyarakat Desa Sungai Batu Gantih, Kecamatan Gunung Kerinci, Kabupaten Kerinci, Provinsi Jambi. Berdasarkan hasil survei pendahuluan ke Desa Sungai Batu Gantih, pada umumnya masyarakat desa melakukan usaha ternaknya secara sambilan dengan kegiatan usaha tani tanaman pangan sebagai usaha utama. Pengetahuan masyarakat Desa Sungai Batu Gantih dalam hal budidaya ayam kampung masih rendah. Pemeliharaan ayam dilakukan secara ekstensif yang mengandalkan sisa makanan rumah tangga sebagai pakan sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya produktivitas dan terbatasnya populasi. Maka kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dan keterampilan masyarakat desa dalam beternak ayam melalui sosialisasi ayam Joper agar mampu meningkatkan produktivitas sehingga dapat meningkatkan penghasilan masyarakat di Desa Sungai Batu Gantih. Ayam Joper merupakan hasil persilangan ayam Joper jantan dan ayam ras betina dengan produksi telur yang cukup tinggi, serta telur dan dagingnya memiliki rasa yang khas. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada bulan September-Desember 2022. Metode kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah pemberdayaan masyarakat partisipatif yang meliputi penyuluhan, pelatihan, dan pendampingan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pemberdayaan berjalan dengan baik dan mendapat respon positif dari masyarakat desa, hal ditunjukkan dengan persentase ayam Joper yang hidup hingga umur 4 minggu mencapai 90% dengan bobot badan berkisar antara 230-290 g/ekor.

This research aimed to determine the influence of egg shape on the gender and abnormalities of hatched kampung chicks, conducted over one month in Wailela Hamlet, Ambon City. Using an experimental method with a quasi-experimental design, the study observed 120 kampung chicken eggs less than five days old. Data were collected by directly observing hatched eggs and chicks using hatching machines and digital scales. The eggs were cleaned, identified, and numbered before placement in a fumigated hatching machine. Ventilation and screening maintained temperature and humidity stability. The chi-square test (X2) analyzed the effect of egg shape on gender and abnormalities. The study's significance lies in its potential to improve breeding practices by understanding the impact of egg shape on hatching outcomes. However, the results indicated that egg shape did not significantly affect the gender or abnormalities of the hatched chicks. Consequently, egg shape cannot be used as a reliable criterion for selecting eggs to determine the gender or abnormalities of kampung chicks. This insight highlights the need for genetic or molecular techniques for gender determination and suggests further research with larger samples to explore other influencing factors.

The difference between this service and the service that has been done is that this service focuses on the utilization of chicken harvest.…”

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted various aspects of people's lives, including the economic sector that occurred in Tanjung Waras Hamlet, Merak Batin Village, RT 15, South Lampung. The observations show the residents' lack of knowledge and creativity in managing the harvest of chicken livestock to improve the creative economy of the residents. Therefore, to maximize this potential, our community service team from the University of Muhammadiyah Lampung assists the community by utilizing chicken harvest to improve the economy. The research method used is qualitative, with activities consisting of preparation, assistance, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring. Data is collected using observation techniques, questionnaires, interviews, and group discussion forums (FGD). This activity was carried out on 6-12 July 2021 in Tanjung Waras Hamlet, Merak Batin Village, RT 15 participants with 20 participants. The results of this activity show that: 1) 90% of respondents succeeded in making frozen food products made from chicken. 2) sales results after being processed into frozen food products provide profits of up to more than 75%. This also makes residents more creative in processing raw chicken pieces into processed products that can provide income and help residents overcome economic problems during the COVID-19 pandemic. Marketing of processed products is carried out by residents from home and also through social media.
