Complete basic immunization coverage in Surabaya and Puskesmas Krembangan Selatan is always above 85%, however, during COVID-19, implementation of immunization at Puskesmas Krembangan Selatan has decreased. This research aims to analyze the description of the implementation of immunization during COVID-19 at Puskesmas Krembangan Selatan. This research was conducted at Puskesmas Krembangan Selatan Surabaya, from January 18 to February 26, 2021. This research was conducted using an online system, with stages coordination and interview with institution supervisor and midwife and documentation study. This research uses primary data. The results of primary data showed that during COVID-19, immunization services continued. Although there are some services that cannot be carried out. Even though there were obstacles, services are still carried out with the implementation of strict health protocols. The conclusion, during COVID-19, immunization services at the Puskesmas Krembangan Selatan were running according to health protocols, but the coverage of most immunizations had not yet reached the predetermined target because people were worried about visiting health services.

BACKGROUND: The Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has affected public health services, including routine immunization services. If this condition continues, the national immunization coverage will decrease, thereby potentially increasing the risk of immunization preventable diseases. AIM: This study aims to determine the coverage of complete basic immunization services in Semarang before (December 2019) and during the pandemic (May 2020) and the factors that affect the coverage of complete basic immunization services. METHODS: This study describes complete basic immunization based on data taken in June-August 2021 at three health centers in Semarang. The data used were the number of visits and the type of immunization obtained from the medical records of the Health Center Management Information System. In addition, in-depth interviews were conducted with the person in charge of the immunization program at the Public Health Center (Puskesmas) to determine the influence factors of the immunization coverage. The data from the interviews were then analyzed thematically. RESULTS: There were 3594 infants who received immunization services, consisting of 2401 before the pandemic and 1193 during the pandemic. The average decrease in the number of basic immunization services was 50.31%. The decrease in the number of basic immunization services occurred in all network public health centers with an average of Puskesmas Genuk (−36.63%), Halmahera (−40%), and Pandanaran (−26.35%). The mother’s fear of COVID-19 contagious, service time and patients restrictions by the PHC, and IPV vaccine stock out have reduced the basic vaccination coverage in all public health centers. Immunization is one of the important health services for the future with the aim of protecting a person from diseases that can be prevented by immunization (PD3I). The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted, delayed, and stopped routine immunization services. Various countries experienced a decrease in immunization coverage. This problem will lead to an increase in PD3I cases that were previously controlled or eliminated. The purpose of this literature review was to analyze and synthesize previous studies related to immunization during the Covid-19 pandemic. The result obtained are that immunization services during the pandemic have decreased due to several factors, including the lockdown policy, health workers, vaccine distribution, and the fear of parents to bring their children immunized.
