In general, this research is to obtain data about the ethical communication of teachers in character education of students at state junior high schools of Bogor City. Specifically this research is to obtain data related to the 5 characteristics of teacher ethical communication in character education which include; (1) openness, (2) empathy, (3) supportive attitude, (4) positive attitude, and (5) equality. This study uses a descriptive quantitative method with a survey technique with a questionnaire instrument. The study population involved teachers from 3 public junior high schools in the city of Bogor totaling 137 people. Through the Slovin formula with an error of 5%, a sample of 102.05 was obtained which was rounded up to 100 teachers who were taken randomly and proportionally. The results of the study are as follows; (1) openness of teachers in communicating with students by 51.45% is included as the moderate category; (2) the empathy of teachers in communicating with students is 49.10% included as the moderate category which tends to be less good; (3) teacher supportive attitude in communicating with students by 51.30% included as the moderate category; (4) the positive attitude of teachers in communicating with students is 49.25% included as the moderate category which tends to be less good; and (5) the equality of teachers in communicating with students is 51.25% included as the moderate category. Then the accumulation of each of the aspects or indicators mentioned above is obtained the data showing that the ethics of teacher communication in character education of students at state junior high schools of Bogor City is 50.47% which is included as the moderate category.

This study aims to analyze effective strategies for long-distance communication between parents and children who are living overseas, in order to provide a better understanding of how parents can effectively support the psychological well-being of their overseas children who are far from home. The research method employed in this study is a literature review, which uses information gathered from library resources such as books, journals, and other written documents. The results of the study demonstrate that the use of technology and communication media can be an effective means of maintaining relationships and communication between parents and overseas children. Key strategies that parents can employ in order to support the psychological well-being of their migrating children through long-distance communication include: 1) providing emotional support, which can help children better cope with stress and emotional problems that may arise during the transition period; 2) maintaining good communication, which is crucial for helping children feel connected to their families and homes; 3) providing motivation and support in education and career goals to help children achieve their best potential; and 4) providing financial support, which can help ensure that children can meet their basic needs while living overseas. This research concludes that the role of parents towards overseas children through long-distance communication is very important to support children's success in learning and psychological well-being. This long-distance communication includes emotional support, career motivation, financial, and moral support.

Interpersonal communication patterns of facilitators for child victims of sexual violence in Aceh Province

Cases of sexual violence against children in Aceh are increasingly worrying. The data collected from SIMFONI-PPA of the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection recorded that in 2021 there were 5,463 cases of violence against children nationally. The impacts felt by the victims of sexual violence who needed psychological assistance included hatred, revenge, rebellion, and trauma. This study, therefore, aimed to investigate the communication patterns used by the facilitators at the Protection of Women and Children of Aceh Province in handling child victims of sexual violence and the obstacles faced in the assistance process. By using a qualitative and phenomenological approach, the study collected the data through in-depth interviews and documentation. The researcher interviewed two lawyers, two counsellors, and one psychologist. At the same time, documentation data was acquired from records and relevant documents in the UPTD PPA Aceh office. The results of the study revealed that there were two patterns of communication used by the facilitators of UPTD. Psychologists and counsellors used primary communication patterns through verbal and non-verbal communication simultaneously. On the other hand, lawyers used a circular communication pattern by having more communication with the victims’ families. Moreover, the obstacles experienced by the facilitators included requiring extra approaches and assistance for child victims with special needs. Other obstacles include frequent threats and terror, the dysfunction of the safe house for victims who needed temporary shelter, and the unavailability of a special treatment section or room in the hospital for victims of sexual violence.
