This article aims to compare the content of reading material for students in Indonesia and other countries, for example, reading material containing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issues. This objective is based on selecting reading material for learning in schools in Indonesia, which is undoubtedly different from that in other countries, for example, the United States. The choice of reading material is chosen by the teacher and is based on its suitability with students’ needs and characteristics. This article uses a comparative study with the literature method. Data are collected from documents in journals, proceedings, books, and articles on the internet related to the topics in this article. The data analysis technique was carried out using content analysis techniques. The collected data were then analysed and compared to determine what students in Indonesia and the United States read. The results show that in the United States, LGBT material has been incorporated into the school curriculum. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, LGBT material is quite challenging to include in the school curriculum because it is considered contrary to the prevailing norms in Indonesia regarding LGBT, even though it can support learning about tolerance. Film is one of the electronic media that has a huge appeal among the public. Films also play an active role in conveying messages or information, but with very neat packaging. Make the message or information more interesting and entertain the audience. Based on this, many films always contain events or phenomena, one of which is the film "A Memories of My Body". Where this film tells the story of LGBT people and is associated with ancient culture, namely the Lengger and Gemblak dances, this paper aims to find out the analysis of William Gamson and Andre Modigliani's framing of the Gemblak stereotype in the film "A Memories of My Body," which was made by Garin Nugroho and released on April 18, 2019. The theory used is framing analysis from William Gamson and André Modigliani. The methodology used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data analysis technique uses the Umberto Eco concept by determining the framing device (metaphor, exemplar, catchphrase, depiction, visual image). ) and tools of reasoning (roots, principle of appeal, consequences).The results show that in the film "A Memoir of My Body" by Garin Nugroho there is a depiction of Gemblak as a sexual deviation and feminism, which can lead to public opinion.

People of Ponorogo is believed to have mystical or supernatural abilities. Public perception understands the character of Ponorogonese as Warok who tends to speak assertive, open, and rude. Warok is the one of antagonist theatrical drama player of Reyog. Negative stigma arises based on the lack of public understanding of the history of Paragan culture. Panaragan's identity actually has noble cultural values. This paper aims to identify Panaragan ethnic identity, in greater depth based on its distribution of settlement, art performance, patterns of interaction, language, and the practice of visualizing identity and characteristics in public spaces. The descriptive qualitative method was applied through data collection from the results of literature studies and observations. Data analysis through triangulation techniques was sourced from literature review of journals, books, and documentation obtained in the field. Panaragan ethnic local identity is influenced by, 1) Reyog performance art that popularized the figure of Warok as a powerful and influential person. In Javanese society, the term Warok is identical to Wewarah, which is understood as someone who is able to teach others about a good life. In the understanding of Islam, wara’ is a social status for those who take the Sufi path. Unfortunately, during the era of colonialism, the figure of Warok was constructed into an image that was used to frightening people and maintain the ruler authority; 2) The Panaragan dialect 'Warokan' is spoken in a straightforward and assertive manner with high intonation which is the influence of art performance Reyog's diction and language style. On the other hand, cultural construction through visual arts symbols and Panaragan cultural performances represent the character of the Ponorogo indigenous people who are persistent, independent, brave, and adventurous.
