Special needs ECE children should be prepared with early literacy and numeracy skills to strengthen their competencies during the transitional phase to primary school. To help this transitional phase, teachers can provide a variety of diverse play activities. This study aims to explore and evaluate the pedagogical strategies employed by teachers in reinforcing special needs children's literacy and numeracy, as a support to their transition process from ECE to primary year. The research applied a qualitative method with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The sample selection applied purposive sampling based on the criteria and objectives of this study. The sample consisted of inclusive classroom teachers from ten ECE institutions in five regions of Central Java, including Semarang City, Pekalongan City, Surakarta City, Wonosobo District, and Jepara District. The study concludes that ECE teachers still see several limitations in dealing with special needs children. Therefore, teachers should modify plans and play activities to strengthen literacy and numeracy skills for special needs children to help them embark on primary school. Teachers expect necessary support for their improvement through training and guidance in dealing with special needs children, especially in developing their literacy and numeracy. Many academics and practitioners do research and teaching to develop early childhood numeracy skills by involving various learning elements such as teaching methods and learning media. The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) is the largest mathematics teacher organization in the world to explain mathematics education into two standards, namely content standards and process standards. Therefore, this research aims to examine numeracy activities against NCTM mathematics education standards. To discuss this objective, the research method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 21 research articles which can be accessed on the Google Scholar website for the year 2022-2023. After the data was obtained, the data was analyzed using thematic data analysis. The research results show that learning elements which include teaching methods and learning media to introduce and develop numeracy skills in early childhood can be used to introduce and develop mathematical abilities in the NCTM mathematics education content standards, namely algebra, geometry, measurement data analysis, and probability.
The purpose of writing this article is to provide an understanding of the use of the quizizz application through training and assistance in the use of the quizizz application as a learning medium at the Muhammadiyah 1 Taman High School, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java Province. This training activity is a form of training and mentoring to increase awareness of the importance of understanding the use of digital and technology platforms. Implementation methods with workshops such as presentation models, lectures, discussions, and counseling. The results of the study provide an answer that the quality of student understanding lies in the creativity of the teacher in the use of interesting digital platforms such as the quizizz application. So, providing training and assistance related to the use of the quizizz application is important, especially for teachers and especially for high schools for students who are enthusiastic about learning.
