Perbedaan Hasil Pemeriksaan Hemoglobin dengan Point of Care Testing (POCT) pada Sampel Darah Vena dan Kapiler

Abstract: On examination of hemoglobin with POCT generally use capillary blood. The use of capillary blood as a test sample has a deficiency, namely the possibility of dilution in capillary blood samples caused by a deep puncture so that the blood that comes out is not smooth and usually the fingers will be pressed or sequenced. This condition can cause blood dilution by tissue fluid, so the test results will tend to be low. The purpose of this study was to find out the difference in hemoglobin results with POCT in veno… Show more

“…Differences in venous and capillary blood apart from the process of taking blood samples, there are differences based on their arrangement, namely veins are more complex and larger in structure so that the number of cells is also small. Venous blood contributes to the macro-circulation of blood, while capillaries function in the micro-circulation (Widianto et al, 2021).…”

“…Because only a small blood sample is needed, hemoglobin examination with POCT can generally use capillary blood, so that the examination can be carried out easily and quickly. 21,22 In research by Widianto et al, they stated that there were no significant differences in hemoglobin levels in venous and capillary blood samples. This is also supported by research by Puspitasari et al, who said that there was no statistically significant difference between the average results of examining hemoglobin levels using the capillary blood POCT method and the venous blood cyanmethemoglobin method.…”

“…This is because veins and capillaries are in one interconnected blood circulation cycle, so both can be used as samples for hemoglobin examination. [22][23][24] The results of hemoglobin levels use grams per deciliter (g/dl 25 The degree of smoking will be classified based on the Brinkman Index which is assessed by the number of cigarettes consumed each day multiplied by the number of years a person has smoked in their lifetime.…”

“…The hemoglobin level examination using the Point of Care Testing (POCT) method involves using a small sample of capillary blood. This method is convenient because it requires only a small amount of blood, easily collected from a fingertip (Widianti et al, 2021). However, the use of capillary blood samples has a drawback-it may lead to sample dilution due to shallow punctures.…”
