Perubahan Kualitas Lingkungan Pada Hutan Kemasyarakatan Di Daerah Aliran Sungai Babak, Pulau Lombok

Abstract: Community Forest (HKm) activities in Babak Watershed have been carried out since 2007 and obtained a permit for community forest management (IUPHKm) in 2010. It cannot be denied that HKm has an influence on environmental quality, both quality of biophysics, economic and social environments. The purpose of this study was to determine environmental quality change of HKm activities in the Babak watershed in the period 2007-2015, both biophysical, economic and social environments. The study was conducted in 2015-2… Show more

“…Change in agricultural land is assumed by converting the agricultural land used in the slope above 25% to primary or secondary forest land with an agroforestry pattern. It is hoped that this pattern will not only benefit the ecology but also the local economy [50]. The simulation in this scenario shows that although it is able to increase the amount of surplus water, it has not been able to reduce the water deficit (Figure 11) and also increase the value of the drought index (Figure 12).…”

“…Community forests in this area are usually developed on marginal land that has low productivity. Nandini (2017) stated that Lombok Tengah's community forests were developed without intensive land management practices. Intensive management of community forests has not been implemented, such as using superior seeds, setting plant spacing, maintenance, and so on.…”

“…Marginal land is more suitable for growing crops producing animal feed biomass or fuel and energy sources (Meehan et al, 2017;Shortall, 2013). However, community forests in Lombok Tengah which are on marginal land are mostly planted with various types of perennial woody plants, especially sengon (Paraserianthes falcataria) and mahogany (Swietenia mahagoni) using mixed patterns, either a mixture of various types of perennial woody plants and multipurpose tree special (MPTS), as well as intercropping with animal feed crops such as elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) (Nandini, 2017;Setiawan et al, 2014).…”
