“…When the literature studies are examined, it can be seen that TiO 2 -based catalysts, especially those produced in powder form, exhibit very high yields [68][69][70][71][72][73]. However, it has been observed that TiO 2 catalysts produced as coatings as in our study, exhibit photocatalytic efficiency in the range of 30%-75% [74][75][76][77][78][79]. Although this efficiency is up to 83%-95% in some studies [80,81], it is thought to be sufficient efficiency obtained for structurally colored TiO 2 coatings with two special properties.…”

“…The percentage of TiO 2 catalyst that was successfully impregnated into the porous ceramic body was still lower compared to the research results of Barmeh, 2019 which succeeded impregnate about 48.10% using coating method. It was also done by Li, 2007 which succeeded in impregnating as much as 80% TiO 2 catalyst in the ceramic body using the coating method.…”

“…The impregnation method is a method commonly used to carry catalysts on metals but the method is less efficient because the method is quite complicated. Another method that is easier and most often used is the adsorption by Barmeh, 2019; adsorption of the Al 2 O 3 catalyst onto the ceramic body was carried out by Ismagilov, 1997; adsorption of the catalyst onto the Agceramic bodies was carried out by Julbe, 2001. Another method is coating Musa, 2017; TiO 2 catalyst coating to tubular ceramic bodies Wang, 2008, TiO 2 catalyst coating was also carried out Li, 2007Yang, 2018Barmeh, 2019Shakeri, 2018 There are several coating methods, namely the dip coating performed by Wang, 2008, sol gel coating using precursor Ti(SO 4 ) 2 and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) conducted by Kishimoto, 2003. The catalyst carrier method that will be used in this research is the adsorption and coating method to investigation which method is the most effective to use as a TiO 2 catalyst support.…”

“…Another way is to achieve a super-hydrophilic and self-cleaning surface by a TiO 2 -based coating with photocatalytic effect, and the photocatalytic TiO 2 can also oxidize organic pollutants into CO 2 and water. [13][14][15][16] The TiO 2 film has excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties, 12 but its disadvantage is that the preparation process is complicated, 17 and the super hydrophilicity only works after UV (ultraviolet light) irradiation. 13 The third way to improve the glaze cleanability is to reduce the surface roughness (Ra) and get a super smooth surface.…”

“…Nevertheless, their low corrosion resistance and mechanical properties result in their destruction even in weakly alkaline solutions, 2,12 limiting their use in sanitary ware. Another way is to achieve a super‐hydrophilic and self‐cleaning surface by a TiO 2 ‐based coating with photocatalytic effect, and the photocatalytic TiO 2 can also oxidize organic pollutants into CO 2 and water 13‐16 .
