Physical Principles of a Piezo Accelerometer Sensitive to a Nearly Constant Signal

Abstract: The paper considers the construction of a piezoelectric accelerometer capable of measuring constant linear acceleration. A number of designs are proposed that make it possible to achieve high sensitivity with small dimensions and a wide frequency band (from 10−5 Hz). The finite element model of the proposed design was investigated, and its output characteristic and scale factor (36 mV/g) were obtained.

“…25 However, the goniometer requires both hands of the rater to be used, which hinders pelvis monitoring, a factor that implies probable overestimation of hip flexion amplitude. [21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28] This study presented hip flexion of approximately 107° with goniometer and 106° with accelerometer. Although the UG is considered a gold standard in evaluations of joint range of motion, it presents significant differences for hip flexion (113°-141°).…”

“…Volunteers were asked to wear adequate clothing and to provide no resistance to performing movements. Initially, the hip flexion amplitude was evaluated in supine horizontal position by digital goniometry 22,23 , it was followed by the evaluation of hip flexion amplitude and pelvis retroversion by the system with accelerometers. Each rater examined the hips independently, without knowing the results of the other raters.…”

“…The measured acceleration signal was filtered by the CFC 1000 filter [ 27 ]. From the physical principle, the piezoelectric accelerometer cannot measure free-fall gravity acceleration [ 28 ]. The experimental acceleration curve decreased to minus g just after release and reached the equilibrium of 0 g during the free fall, so the experimental acceleration curve needed to be adjusted to be comparable to the simulation results.…”

“…Вариации конструкции датчиков, основанных на воздействии акустических волн, практически безграничны. Таким образом, можно построить датчики на поверхностных акустических волнах, чувствительные к слабым постоянным сигналам [13], а также датчики углового движения на объемных акустических волнах [14] из-за поляризации волны.…”
