Metrics & MoreArticle Recommendations ■ INTRODUCTION OF JILIN UNVIERSITY Jilin University (JLU) was established in 1946 and is a leading national comprehensive university of China located in Changchun, the capital of Jilin Province. JLU offers a wide range of disciplines in education and is strong at interdisciplinary research. In particular, research on nanoscience and nanotechnology is actively conducted by several top disciplines of JLU, including but not limited to Chemistry, Physics, Materials, and Electronics. This September, both the chemistry and physics disciplines (ranked in the top 0.1% and 1% of the global Essential Science Indicators, respectively) in JLU will celebrate their 70th anniversary.
■ COLLEGE OF CHEMISTRY AT JLUThe discipline of Chemistry at JLU was founded in 1952 by Profs. Liusheng Tsai, Auchin Tang, Shizhi Kuan, Weisun Tao, and many other prominent chemists. Developed in the spirit of dedication, innovation, integrity, and collaboration, the discipline of Chemistry at JLU is now internationally acclaimed for its excellence and commitment in both fundamental research and education. The College of Chemistry has placed a tremendous emphasis on high-quality education to prepare our students for both current and future challenges in chemistry and related fields. It has developed a high-level comprehensive system for undergraduate and graduate education. Many graduates from the College become academic leaders, represented by 15 members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering. Some of the alumni are highly active in the field of nanomaterials and nanotechnology, including but not limited to Profs.
