“…The MTT assay was used to determine the cytotoxicity effect of the optimized NGC against MRC5 and A549 cell lines. The range of the cytotoxic effect was based on the National Cancer Institute and the Geran Protocol: IC 50 < 21.00 µg/mL (highly toxic), IC 50 of 21.00-200.00 µg/mL (moderately toxic), IC 50 of 201.00-500.00 µg/mL (weakly toxic), and IC 50 values >500.00 µg/mL (non-toxic) [48]. Table 8 showed that the optimized NGC had reduced cytotoxicity effects against both MRC5 and A549 when compared with the control (Gem + Cis alone) from very toxic (IC 50 < 1.56 µg/mL) to weakly toxic (IC 50 280.00 µg/mL) and moderately toxic (IC 50 = 46.00 µg/mL), respectively, after 72 h of treatment.…”

“…Red and Premium French LcCEs demonstrated IC 50 value of 1mg/ml concentration on A549 cells as compared to whole green LcCE (p < 0.0001 for both). Another study also showed comparable IC 50 values between Glycine soja extracts (from the same family as lentils) and cisplatin (broad-spectrum chemotherapy medicine) on A549 cells (Amaani and Dwira, 2018).…”

“…This unique compound was completely elucidated to be 5-(sec-butyl)-2ethylfuran-3-carboxylic acid. No reference for the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) data of compound (50) was available. This is the first report of the NMR spectrum and biological activity of the furan-type compound (50) produced by a marine Streptomyces sp.…”

“…Cont. IC 50 values in µg/mL are <21 µg/mL for strong, 21-200 µg/mL for moderate, and 201-500 µg/mL for weak cytotoxicity, with values >501 µg/mL as non-cytotoxic[50]. IC50 measurements in µM, values of 1-10 µM can be defined as very strong, 11-25 µM defined as strong, 26-50 µM defined as moderate, and 51-100 µM defined as weak cytotoxic.…”
