“…13.9-18.4 x 7.4-10.2 µm (n = 38, meanL = 15 ± 0.84, meanW = 8.7 ± 0.51, Q = 1.54-2.08, meanQ = 1.73 ± 0.13). Murrill (1915) quite clearly states that Crinipellis squamifolia has a pileus with "surface melleous, conspicuously covered with long, loose, shaggy, ferruginous-fulvous hairs…stipe cylindric, equal, enlarged at base, pallid, with conspicuous ferruginous hairs similar to those on the pileus, becoming subglabrous with age at the apex…" (underlining our emphasis). Clearly collection #461 from Mexico is not conspecific with the Pouzarella squamifolia from Jamaica.…”

“…Murrill (1916b), Smith (1947) (Corner 1954). On the other hand, M. margarita, originally from Morce's Gap, Jamaica, has records only for the new world, occurring almost exclusively in the Caribbean region, while in South America the records are scarce, being mentioned only for Venezuela by Dennis (1951).…”
