This research aims to describe the learning patterns of Islamic madrasas. Focusing on curriculum design and practice on the pedagogical abilities of students. Santri here refers to the research location, which is located at the Nurul Ulum Blitar Islamic boarding school. This research is a type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation techniques and processed through descriptive analysis. The analysis consists of three activity streams carried out simultaneously: data collection, data reduction, and conclusion or data verification. The study results show that the learning pattern at Madrasah Diniyah Nurul Ulum uses a mixed system. The system seeks to combine traditional and modern methods. The learning pattern of Madrasah Diniyah Nurul Ulum integrates the curriculum, aspects of pedagogy and professionalism, and the degree of educator education. The learning curriculum at Madrasah Diniyah Nurul Ulum combines conservative salafiyah classes and modern kalafiyah. The pedagogical ability of students can be found in learning in the form of studying various kinds of books, which are divided into Ula and Wustho levels. Professionalism here is a solid learning pattern for students, morning, afternoon, evening and night, to hone discipline and expertise. The degree of educator education is the profile of the Nurul Ulum Islamic boarding school teacher with a reasonable level. Integrating the four aspects above, this Madrasah presents the Nurul Ulum learning pattern as its advantage.

Laporan Kementerian Kementerian Agama terdapat 26.975 pondok pesantren di Indonesia per Januari 2022. Namun potensi yang dimiliki oleh pesantren belum banyak diperhatikan, baik oleh pemerintah maupun pesantren sendiri. Pada sisi lain setiap pesantren umumnya memiliki aset dalam berbagai bentuk aset, seperti bangunan, ladang, perkebunan, dan aset lainnya yang dapat digunakan untuk keperluan operasional atau keperluan madrasah. Namun berbagai potensi yang ada belum mampu dieksplorasi oleh pesantren, sehingga pesantren sangat ketergantungan dengan dana SPP dan sumber pendanaan insidental. Untuk itu tim pengabdian masyarakat dari Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Islam -IAIN Lhokseumawe hadir untuk melakukan sosialisasi melalui pendekatan ekonomi syariah guna pemberdayaan ekonomi pesantren pada Pesantren Darul Huffazh Al Arief. Materi sosialisasi yang disampaikan kepada warga pesantren merupakan hasil kajian terdahulu berupa riset, naskah yang telah dipublikasikan di jurnal, prosiding, buku maupun website yang terpercaya. Hasil kegiatan ini, tim berhasil menyelesaikan pengabdian di Pesantren Darul Huffazh Al Arief. Berbagai potensi yang dimiliki pesantren seperti aset gedung, fasilitas olahraga, lahan serta SDM dapat dikembangkan menjadi sumber pemberdayaan ekonomi yang dikelola berdasarkan ekonomi syariah. Beberapa modal yang dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan dasar pemberdayaan ekonomi berdasarkan ekonomi syariah antara lain: captive market, demografi, baitul maal atau lembaga keuangan sejenisnya, relasi serta pengelolaan wakaf produktif.

The objective of this research is to analyze the role of internal initiative driven by pesantren leaders and external development provided by the government in building pesantren entrepreneurship. This research was conducted by utilizing a descriptive qualitative method, with a sample of 5 pesantrens in Garut Regency, Indonesia. The data obtained in this research was collected through focus group discussion (FGD) with a number of stakeholdrs as informant namely leaders of the 5 pesantrens taken as sample along with a couple of their students. Based on field study, we discovered that the success of pesantren in building entrepreneurship activities are dominantly determined by internal initiative and creativity driven by entrepreneurs/managers/ initiators of pesantren, supported by their students. Other pesantrens that have succeeded to build their economic independencies have also received assistance from the government through one pesantren one product (OPOP) program as external development driving factor, which motivated these pesantrens to contribute and to help the government to achieve the goals of this program.
