Preliminary Report on the Indoor Electromagnetic Radiation in a Municipality of Western P.R. China: Up-to-Now Still within the Range

Abstract: Objective: This study is designed to measure the current level of Indoor Electromagnetic Radiation (IER) in Chongqing, a municipality of western P.R. China, on which further epidemiological investigation on the relation between the level of IER and certain health effects could be based. Methods: 118 Households in 4 urban residential districts in Chongqing were randomly selected. The IER intensity was measured in each household's living room at different frequencies under three different conditions. Results: Th… Show more

“…The application of electromagnetic technology in China has reached an international advanced level due to the progress of modern science [1−3]. With huge benefits brought by electromagnetic developments, the radiations of indoor household appliances and stone materials have also severely disrupted our ecological environments [4,5]. The electromagnetic radiations of mobile phones, computers, televisions, induction cookers, and printers are familiar as well as their problems, which has become a priority of humanity [6−9].…”

“…Hajdarevic et al [20] conducted measurements on personal exposures to EMF emitted from household appliances and office equipment to reveal that manufacturers have to specify reference levels of EMF and guidance for avoidance for risk of exposition of longer period of time. Similarly, in western of China, the current level of indoor electromagnetic radiation of randomly selected 118 household's living room is measured at different frequencies [21], in Alexandria [22], levels of exposure to EMF at home with the selected thirteen electrical appliances are measured, and Ibrahim et al [23] choose Nigeria as a case study to assess the selected electric driven home/office appliances magnetic field exposure levels.…”
