PRELIMINARY STUDY OF VEHICULAR TRAFfiC EFFECT ON RADIO SIGNAL FOR RADIO

Abstract: Radio signals detected from the ground are very weak since it travels far from the universe. Radio wave carries photons with low energies compared to other electromagnetic spectra such as visible light, ultraviolet, X-rays, and the most energetic electromagnetic wave is gamma-rays. The microwave region is the shortest wavelength of radio waves. Hence, microwave photons have greater energy. Radio astronomy studies are restricted due to radio frequency interference (RFI) that produces by human daily activities. … Show more

“…It can be inferred from [9][10][11][12][13][14] that the satellite earth stations to be converted have been left unused for a long period of time. During the idle time of unused earth stations, the rollout of terrestrial wireless networks in concerned areas is not unlikely, thereby exposing GTs to terrestrial wireless network interference as inferred from [25][26][27][28]. Therefore, converted earth stations require interference protection mechanisms when they are in the vicinity of terrestrial wireless networks.…”

“…GIS is playing a very important role in helping users to collect, analyze and display spatial data in different forms tailored to their individual needs (Kamarudin et al 2015b;Mustafa et al 2015;Yusri et al 2009). Site selection studies are essential for decision makers to propose where to build an astronomical observatory with the highest efficiency (Sabri et al 2015;Umar et al 2015). So, in this study, application of GIS will be used to generate the spatial model of sky brightness in Langkawi Island, Malaysia.…”
