Murthy et al [168] studied the effect of SiC particle size (0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2 wt%) on stir-casted AA2219 nanocomposites fabricated by the ultrasonic-assisted process; 50 nm and 250 nm sizes of SiC were used in the matrix with the observation that the 50 nm SiC-AA2219 had 25% lower wear volume compared with the 150 nm SiC-AA2219 composites.
