Age 4-6 is an important age of growth and development to introduce the basic swimming skills, to improve fitness and body functions, as the nature of water reduces excessive stress on joints, reduces static body tension. The aim of the research is to improve the content and structure of the swimming training program for older preschool children to form their aquatic competence. The object of the research is the process of teaching swimming of older preschool children. The subject of the research is the means, methods, and forms of teaching swimming of children of older preschool age. In the article the state of the problem of teaching swimming of children of older preschool age is analyzed, the methods of teaching swimming of children of older preschool age are considered. According to the results of experimental diagnostics, the levels of the integral indicator of water competence (IIWC) of children of older preschool age have been determined, which indicated its insufficient level (13.3% – the children of the experimental group EG1; 20.0% – the children of the experimental group EG2 and 20.0% – the children of the control group CG). Changes in their indicators during the conducted experiment have been studied, which proved the effectiveness of the interactive swimming training program implemented in the training process of older preschool children on the level of their water competence. The comparative analysis of the final values of indicators of water competence (IIWC) of children of older preschool age has revealed changes in values at a statistically significant level in the experimental groups.

The article analyzes the age of male swimmers of the national swimming team of Ukraine in 2021-2024, considers their compliance with favorable zones for achieving the first successes and maximum realization of individual opportunities. It was determined that over the past four years, the main composition of the national team of Ukraine mostly consists of 17-22-year-old swimmers, and after the athletes reach the age of 21 and above, when the results should increase due to the maturation of physical and functional indicators, there is a significant decline in the national team and only 20 % manages to remain among the strongest athletes. Observing this state of affairs, there are fears that athletes are exposed to accelerated physical training, the result of which is a rapid increase in sports results in adolescence and young adulthood. The article emphasizes that youth competitions should ensure the achievement of educational, educational, cultural goals, and the results obtained at them should be considered only as an intermediate stage of long-term sports development. The purpose of the research is to create rational long-term training for talented young swimmers. The scientific novelty of the research consists in determining the age of the strongest swimmers of Ukraine in recent years and its correspondence to the characteristic modern world swimming. Conclusions have been drawn regarding the need to avoid the harmful effects of the exploitation of talented young athletes of Ukraine, which is manifested in the acceleration of their training, which is associated with the violation of laws and principles underlying rational long-term training.
Purpose: substantiation and development of the structure and content of theoretical training of kayakers and canoeists at the stage of preliminary basic training and determining the effectiveness of classes using traditional and author's (interactive) means of theoretical training of athletes. Material and methods. In the second stage, an experiment was conducted to establish the effectiveness of traditional and interactive means of theoretical training. The study involved trainers-teachers, a total of 82 people. Among the respondents were 41 coaches of the highest category (21 of them - Honored Coach of Ukraine), 19 people - coaches of the first category, 22 people - coaches of the second category. In the second stage, an experiment was conducted to establish the effectiveness of traditional and interactive means of theoretical training. The experiment involved kayakers and canoeists aged 13-16, who were engaged in the stage of preliminary basic training. The total number of athletes was 42 people. Two experimental groups were formed, in the preparation of which different methods and means of theoretical training were used. Comparison of data obtained during the survey of trainers-teachers was tested for the normality of the distribution using the criterion of agreement χ2 Pearson. To determine the reliability of the differences between the indicators of the level of theoretical training of rowers before and after the pedagogical experiment, the criterion of signs (Signtest) was used. Results. Training sessions on the developed program with the use of author's interactive means of theoretical training contributed to a significant (p <0.05) increase in the overall level of theoretical training of rowers at the stage of preliminary basic training by 29.56%. At the same time, training sessions with the use of theoretical training provided by the state curriculum were less effective and contributed to increasing the overall level of theoretical training of young rowers by only 7.2% (p <0.05). Conclusions. Theoretical training is an important component in the system of training kayakers and canoeists. The use of interactive theoretical training tools using the game method (computer games) in the process of theoretical training significantly increases its effectiveness, in contrast to classes that used only traditional tools and methods (study of methodological literature, conversations, demonstration of posters, stands, educational films ). This innovative approach makes the process of theoretical training much more effective by providing a higher level of theoretical training of athletes.
