Production efficiency and profitability of major farming systems in Tamil Nadu

Abstract: This study evaluates the performance of the predominant farming systems in Tamil Nadu using primary data from 192 farmers for 2015-16, and the standard cost and stochastic frontier production function methods. Seven different predominant farming systems were identified, of which the fruits and turmeric farming systems were profitable.
