Abstract: Abstract:The tribological properties, under water-lubricated conditions, of three major nano-composite coatings, i.e., diamond-like carbon (DLC or a-C), amorphous carbon nitride (a-CN x ) and transition metallic nitride-based (TiN-based, CrN-based), coatings are reviewed.
