Properties of the strange axial mesons in the relativized quark model

Abstract: We studied properties of the strange axial mesons in the relativized quark model. We calculated the K 1 decay constant in the quark model and showed how it can be used to extract theis the most sensitive measurement and also the most reliable since the largest of the theoretical uncertainties factor out. However the current bounds extracted from the TPC/Two-Gamma collaboration measurements are rather weak: we typically obtain −30 o < ∼ θ K < ∼ 50 o at 68% C.L. We also calculated the strong OZI-allowed decays i… Show more

“…As we noted in the section on K 1 mesons, our mixing angle θ is opposite in sign to that of Blundell and Godfrey [17], because they apply Eqs. (A13,A14) to sn antikaons, whereas we apply it to ns kaons.…”

“…[10] are used. 4 In studying a mode that has a J=c or c 0 in the final state, a key strategy is to reconstruct the J=c only in its decays to e þ e À or þ À , and the c 0 only in its decays to e þ e À , þ À , or J=c þ À . Although this choice abandons all but 12% of J=c 's and 5% of c 0 's, it reduces continuum backgrounds to a negligible level.…”
