Abstract: Pulmonary embolism is a common and often life-threatening event. Treatment options include anticoagulation alone, catheter-directed therapies, and surgical thromboembolectomy. While guidelines exist, there is often controversy over which treatment is most appropriate, particularly for intermediate-risk patients.
