Pulsed Electrodeposition of HAP/CPG-BSA/CUR Nanocomposite on Titanium Metal for Potential Bone Regeneration

Abstract: Bioactive hydroxyapatite (HAP) composites are progressively predicted as successive materials in bone regeneration therapy. A nanostructured composite made from the mixture of hydroxyapatite, chitosan (C)polyethylene glycol (P)-gelatin (G), and bovine serum albumin (BSA) (HAP/CPG-BSA) was prepared using ultra probe sonication followed by lyophilization. The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich curcumin (CUR) molecules were impregnated on HAP/CPG-BSA composite for self-repairing bone regeneration. The physico… Show more

“…The in vitro discharge behavior of DOX from the DOX-loaded HAP/κ-CA-MA-CAS/DOX composite was studied vfollowing formula was used to calculate ia the dialysis membrane (MWCO of 12,000 Da) method in a phosphate buffer solution (PBS) with a pH of 7.4 . Then, 2 mL of the PBS solution containing 50 mg of the DOX-loaded composite was stirred at 100 rpm at 25 °C.…”

“…Cell differentiation was studied using human lung cancer (A549) cells purchased from the National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune, India. The A549 cells were seeded in 24-well plates containing Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) supplemented with 10% FBS and penicillin of 100 U/mL of streptomycin (100 U/mL) (Gibco, Grand Island, CA, U.S.A.) and cultivated for 24 h at a density of 4 × 10 4 cells/well . Then, they were cocultured with HAP, κ-CA-MA, κ-CA-MA-CAS, HAP/κ-CA-MA-CAS, and HAP/κ-CA-MA-CAS/DOX composites, and human lung cancer (A549) cells were used as control.…”

“…Titanium and its alloys developed for enduring implant utilizing for their favorable excellent mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, as well as their low dangers, biocompatibility, and such as elevated potency, stability, and less heaviness (Teshima et al, 2012 ; Sumathra and Rajan, 2019 ). However, they need particular surface treatment to defeat problems such as less bio-functionality, toxicity, or immunogenicity (Geuli et al, 2017 ).…”
