“…Other skin conditions that have a greater prevalence include pilomatricomas (2.6%) (397, 398), vitiligo (2.7-6%) (399, 400) and halo nevi (18%) (399). Psoriasis is frequently reported in patients with TS, but a study of 594 women with TS did not find an increased prevalence over the general population (166,401). Clinical practice suggests that keloids commonly occur, but one report showed that only about 3% developed keloids or hypertrophic scars after surgical procedures (402).…”

“…The observed mutation was previously described in a Dutch family with a typical EKV phenotype, 2 and in two Dutch patients with progressive symmetric erythrokeratodermia of Gottron (PSEK). 3 Interestingly, a microsatellite analysis in these Dutch patients with EKV/PSEK showed that the same allelic haplotype, extending over 2 Mb and including the GJB4 gene, was shared, even though these patients were from different families. 3 This result suggests that a single ancestral founder with this mutation might have introduced EKV with the p.G12D mutation to the Netherlands.…”

“…Both TS patients and psoriasis patients are known to be characterized by a high prevalence of metabolic syndrome. 3 When our patient was 2 months old, she was diagnosed with TS at a pediatric clinic by genetic study of karyotyping. She was treated with a recombinant growth hormone until adolescence, which resulted in her reaching the height of 153 cm.…”

“…Although it is known that patients with TS sometimes develop psoriasis, the coexistence of TS and pustular psoriasis is rare with only a few cases reported. [1][2][3] Those previously reported cases affected adults, and hormonal changes such as estradiol were suggested as a causative factor. By contrast, we report on the first case of pediatric pustular psoriasis without hormone therapy.…”
