Raft polymerization of MMA in the presence of ferrocene: A new way to realize the rate enhancement

Abstract: Hydration O 0335Rh(I)-Catalyzed Hydration of Organonitriles under Ambient Conditions. -The hydration of organonitriles using the new catalyst system, cf. conditions A, proceeds under mild conditions and tolerates a variety of functional groups as well as a stereogenic center. This procedure enables the production of industrially and pharmaceutically important substances in a straightforward manner and is complementary to many practical methods which use microorganisms for enzymatic hydration of nitriles utiliz… Show more

“…[11][12][13]15 2-Cyanoprop-2-yl-1-dithionaphthalate (CPDN) was synthesized and used as the RAFT chain transfer agent (CTA) in this research, because it is an effective CTA for the polymerization of methacrylate monomers. 28,[31][32][33] The influence of different monomer reactivities and different polymerization methods on the composition variation was postulated by studying conversion and composition changes with respect to polymerization time. In addition, the effect of different polymer homogeneities on lithographic performance was studied.…”

“…Addition of ferrocene substantially accelerate RAFT polymerization of methyl methacrylate with 2-cyanoprop-2yl naphthalene-1-carbodithioate (CPDN). 59 A mesoporous phenylene-silica that was derivatized with ferrocene catalyzed the oxidation of styrene to benzaldehyde. 60 Apart from the main product, styrene oxide, 1phenylethanol and benzoic acid were found as side products.…”

“…RAFT agents with benzodioxole [74] or ferrocenyl [75][76] groups were synthesized and their control over polymerizations of conventional monomers was studied. Those RAFT agents showed good control over styrene polymerization.…”
