Reagents for the synthesis of alkenes from carbonyl compounds: applications in the synthesis of terpenoid compounds

Abstract: The carbon-carbon double bond has been introduced by replacing carbonyl group employing various reagents in several decalones and tetralones. The resulting unsaturated compounds have been utilized for the synthesis of natural products related to diterpenes triptolide, taxodione and sesquiterpenes, herbertene, cuauhtemone, warburganal, drim-8-en-7-one, occidol, mansonone F and biflorine.
