“…27) Na 2 CO 3 , NaCl, NaOH, thiourea and Na 2 S 2 O 3 have each shown the ability to elute platinum from several basic anion exchange resins. 15,28) In this study, elution of platinum from the loaded Diaion SA10AP resin, after removal of iron, was tested using all of the above agents. Loading experiments were carried out by loading the leaching solution with 40 g/dm 3 of resin.…”

“…15) Recovery of PGMs from these resources is an attractive way to manufacture materials due to economical, as well as environmental considerations. 3,6) In hydrometallurgical treatment processes, the valuable metals are first dissolved by a leaching process using various lixiviants.…”

“…Direct platinum recovery from the other catalyst components is an advantage of the acid fusion process. Platinum recovery in most processes cited in the literature [2,7,9,22,33] requires several steps in order to separate it from the other catalyst components.…”

“…Solvent extraction (SX) and ion-exchange (Amberlite IRA-93, Alamine 336 impregnated onto Amberlite XAD2) methods have been widely used for the extraction and separation of PGMs [3,4]. The literature survey revealed that substantial work has been done on the recovery of PGMs using SX methodology with the various kind of extractants such as Alamine 304 (tri n-dodecyl amine), Alamine 308 (tri-iso-octyl amine), Aliquat 336 (tricaprylmethyl-ammonium chloride, a quaternary ammonium salt), Cyanex 302, Kelex 100, oxime, sulfoxide and malonamide [5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13] from chloride solutions. Among these extractants less number of extractants is utilized for the separation of rhodium from platinum [14].…”
