Release characteristics of microspheres prepared by co-spray dryingActinobacillus pleuropneumoniaeantigens and aqueous ethyl-cellulose dispersion

Abstract: Using formalin inactivated Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae antigens and aqueous ethylcellulose dispersions, microspheres of oral vaccines were developed by a co-spray drying process. The present study attempted to determine whether the dosage formulations of microspheres could form enteric matrices. To assess the enteric characteristics, an in vitro dissolution test was performed with the AQ6-AP microspheres; 95% of the A. pleuropneumoniae protein was released within 3 h at pH 7, but there was no release at pH… Show more

“…For this, it is not surprising that the spray-drying of diverse types of vaccines has gathered the deep interest of various research groups. [71,[117][118][119][120][121][122][123][124][125][126][127][128][129][130][131][132][133][134][135] In Figure 3, we present the chronological trends of the studies in the spray-drying of protein pharmaceuticals. We can observe an extensive research of peptide hormones during 2002-2011, and their numbers dwindling slightly in recent years.…”

“…[132] Ammonium carbonate, a known pore former agent, has been used to produce aerosolisable particles of octreotide acetate. [85] Finally, magnesium stearate has been applied to the production of microspheres of an oral vaccine of Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, [124] probably as agglomeration preventing agent. [167]…”
