Trebević is one of four Olympic mountains in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In its immediate vicinity are the most urbanized parts of the cities of East Sarajevo (Republic of Srpska) and Sarajevo (Federation of BiH). For many years, the area of Trebević has been the main recreation zone for the residents of these cities, which influenced on decision to proclaim parts of this area, in both entities, as protected area. Considering the importance that Trebević has in terms of tourism, a geoecological evaluation of its natural potential was carried out, with goal to quantify the real potentials of this mountain for the needs of recreational tourism. The valuation was carried out using the quantitative diversity method (V-Wert) and the AHP method combined with the bonitation method. The first method is based on the analysis of relief, water areas, forest cover, land use and climate, and since the results obtained by this method showed a high dependence on relief elements, we implemented in analysis the evaluation of relief characteristics using AHP methods and then we compared the obtained results. The analysis was carried out using GIS software (QGIS Desktop 3.28.15), and the obtained results were presented cartographically and showed that the researched area has a high suitability for recreational tourism.
