Removal of doxycycline hyclate by adsorption onto cobalt oxide at three different temperatures: isotherm, thermodynamic and error analysis

Abstract: The adsorption of doxycycline hyclate on the low-cost adsorbent cobalt oxide was carried out, in a thermostated shaker at three different temperatures (40 °C, 50 °C and 60 °C), and studied other parameters were effected on the adsorption process including initial concentration, a weight of cobalt oxide and effect of pH. The high value of coefficient of determination of 0.985 and low value for Chi-square test of 0.346 for Langmuir linear equation at the temperature of 40 °C are referred to a good accuracy and a… Show more

“…The amount of absorption process (ΔH) utilize to differentiate between chemical and physical absorption. Negative and small ΔH value (table 4) strengthen the mention results and give excellent mark for weak interactions between D and the compositephysical interactions-and indicating the reaction is exothermic [33].…”

“…Other research works for drug adsorption onto metal oxides were exemplified by doxycycline hyclate sorption onto cobalt oxide (Co 3 O 4 ) (Abbas et al, 2019) and ciprofloxacin hydrochloride adsorption onto copper oxide (CuO) (Sharma and Dhiman, 2017) in aqueous solutions.…”

“…Antibiotics are among the most important pharmaceutical compounds found in the aquatic environment. They have been discovered in different aquatic environments such as groundwater, agricultural drainage water and drinking water [1][2][3]. Animal waste used as fertilizer is a major source of water pollution.…”
