Research Note: The immune enhancement ability of inulin on ptfA gene DNA vaccine of avian Pasteurella multocida

Abstract: To evaluate the ability of inulin to enhance the immune response of a ptfA gene DNA vaccine for avian Pasteurella multocida , inulin was added as an adjuvant to the ptfA- DNA vaccine, obtaining an inulin-adjuvant DNA vaccine. The DNA vaccine was administered to chickens; a fimbria protein vaccine and an attenuated live vaccine were used as positive controls. The levels of the serum antibody and concentrations of interferon-γ ( IFN… Show more

“…A similar phenomenon was also found in Salmonella studies, suggesting that the protective role of antibodies specific to the LPS is not indispensable for live attenuated S. Typhimurium vaccines [ 29 , 37 ]. Some membrane proteins of P. multocida , including PlpE, Cp39, OmpH, PtfA and FHAB2, have been proven to be protective antigens that stimulate protective immunity against FC [ 38 42 ]. It would be of interest to examine the role and contribution of these antigens in the induction of protective immunity by live attenuated P. multocida vaccines.…”

“…The remaining in vivo studies in this field of research explored, to a lesser extent, the novel use of bacterial DNA [85] and natural compounds [86,87]. Different compounds of plant and animal origin converged with varying degrees of experimental development in this last small group of substances.…”

“…DNA was added in an amount of 5.0 μL (100-150 ng). Studies were performed on a thermal cycler 2720 (Applied Biosystems, USA) with the temperature Molecular genetic studies were performed to identify the presence of the genes toxA, which is responsible for producing a dermonecrotic toxin, and ptfA, which encodes production of the products that assemble to form type 4 fimbriae on the bacterial surface and are responsible for biofilm formation (Devi et al, 2018;Gong et al, 2020).…”
