Research on Green Supply Chain Management and Enterprise Performance in Taiwan’s Electronics Industry

Abstract: The increase in greenhouse gases (GHG) in the atmosphere has led to global warming. Climate change is an international environmental issue. Therefore, companies should pay more attention to carbon management strategies in their supply chains. It also requires major suppliers to disclose their greenhouse gas emissions and climate change strategies through CDP. These suppliers include some large electronics manufacturers in Taiwan. The focus of this research is to understand the carbon management strategy in the… Show more

“…A review of previous studies on GSCM shows that scholars focused on the impact of GSCM systems on company operating performance (Wu, 2005; Ceng et al , 2011), corporate reputation (Quintana-García et al , 2020) and environmental performance (Rao and Holt, 2005a). Other scholars have explored mediating and moderating variables, such as quality environmental management (Cheng, 2013), information technology (Ceng et al , 2011), environmental uncertainty (Wu, 2013) and stewardship behavior and institutional pressure (Yang, 2013; Zhu and Sarkis, 2007). Based on these studies, a considerable number of empirical tests have been done on the GSCM-organizational performance relationship but little research has been done on how GMO enhances GSCM capability and organizational performance.…”

“…Further results from R 2 and path significance analysis reveal that the environmentalfriendly practices hypotheses (H7a-H7e) for Green creation, Green distribution, Green sourcing, Green usage, and end of life are based on the current Green IT/IS practice being deployed in the enterprise. The findings reveal that the current Green IT/IS practice significantly influence Green creation as previously specified by Ninlawan et al (2010). Ninlawan et al (2010) stated that Green creation involves the utilization of information systems for enterprise operations, environmental management, and carbon foot print assessment in CEs design activities.…”
