“…The higher impairment of the Oro‐facial Appearance dimension in the anterior group when compared to the posterior group at baseline was reasonably predictable and consistent with previously reported anecdotal experiences of clinicians . This observation is also consistent with the dimensional model of OHRQoL, which suggests that individuals perceive the impact of oral disorders in 4 dimensions: Oral Function , Oro‐facial Pain , Oro‐facial Appearance , and Psychosocial Impact .…”

“…The PEI is an esthetic assessment tool that has undergone validation and reliability testing in prosthodontic cases and has exhibited good responsiveness ( Özhayat and Dannemand, 2014 , Øzhayat, 2017 ). One major flaw of the PEI is that it cannot be employed to quantify the overall appearance of the teeth and face ( Özhayat and Dannemand (2014) ).…”

“…This tool demonstrates the value of good agreement on inter-rater and intra-rater reliability tests but has not been reported in clinical or other studies. Esthetic evaluation instruments that have been tested for validity and reliability for prosthodontic cases are Prosthetic Esthetic Index (PEI) and also have good responsiveness [18,36]. Developed by Ozhayat et al, this tool is for clinicians in daily practice or research because it considers structured aspects which include aesthetic prosthetic aspects of the face, mouth, prosthetic, and comprehensive dental aesthetic.…”
