“…For co-surfactants selection, combination of Tween-80 with PEG-400 resulted in a very clear nanoemulsion. It is supported by research work of Ahmad et al and Sahni et al [10,35], where the use of hydrophilic co-surfactant resulted in a clear microemulsion. A very low zeta potential was noted here, however it is quite expected because the net surface charge for a nanoemulsion droplets decreases with the use of non-ionic surfactant as reported by McClements et al [36].…”

“…For in vitro drug release study of the developed formulations, pretreated dialysis membrane (pore size 2.4 nm, mol. weight cut off $12-14 kDa) was used [10,25]. The release medium comprised of; phosphate buffer: ethanol in a ratio of 7:3, pH 6.4 with a total volume of 100 whereas the set up for release study was maintained at 37 ± 1 C with a stirring for 6 h at 100 rpm.…”

“…Likewise, quercetin treatment in murine genetic models of muscle dysfunction accompanied by motor impairments has also been effective [30]. Other models of brain injury, such as ischemia or delivery of neurotoxins, have been used to demonstrate beneficial protective effects of quercetin treatment on motor performance, including rotarod and grip strength [31][32][33][34]. In a recent study, Zhu et al [35] found that the combination of quercetin and dasatinib acted as a senolytic drug-that is, one that promotes apoptosis of senescent cells.…”

“…100 Likewise, Ahmad and coworkers, developed quercetin loaded mucoadhesive intranasal nanoemulsion to treat cerebral ischemia and studied the targeting efficiency as well as the therapeutic efficiency using the rat model. 101 Further, the same group of authors investigated the competence of nanoemulsion for brain targeting of therapeutics. They prepared safranal, an anti-oxidant, loaded mucoadhesive nanoemulsion for intranasal administration to treat cerebral ischemia.…”
