Abstract: Floodplain hazard and territories. Floodplains now represents significant local and socio-economi-cal stakes. On this hydrological area where floods occur, several other territorial reasoning (economical, social, political) are superposed and confront themselves. The paper analyses the territories notion concerned by the flood hazard according to a geographical and a legal approach.
