Scientific bases of the humus stabilization in ordinary chernozem in Russia

Abstract: <p>The influence of long-term use of mineral and organic fertilizers, crop rotations, plant residues, soil treatment systems on humus content of common chernozems and stabilization of productivity of field crops in the arid conditions of the Middle Volga region is considered on the example of researches in the Samara area. The zone climate of field experiments is characterized as extremely continental. The sum of the active temperatures (above 10°C) is 2,800-3,000°C. The average annual rainfall is 454.1 … Show more

“…With the growth of agricultural technology, the introduction of farming intensification, the values of the indicator decreased and stabilized at a certain value (Equation 5), where: Ya -actual yield of the main product at standard humidity, dt/ha; E -total water-use of crops during the vegetation period, mm. The maximum possible potential yield (Ypp m) in terms of moisture supply was calculated using the same formula as the actual possible potential yield (Ypp a), but according to the longterm annual average moisture reserves (W) in the soil 453.8 mm (Goryanin et al, 2019) and the optimal moisture requirement according to M. K. Kayumov (1989). The optimal moisture requirement for winter crops (Rw) was 326 mm (Bykov, 1968).…”
