Abstract: This research is aimed to describe of the first origin of Muhamadiyah in Minangkabau beside on Hamka perspective on his book “Ayahku”, about whom lead Muhamadiyah to Minangkabau, what is the background of Muhamadiyah brought to Minangkabau, and what about the response of Minangkabau society regarding the arrival of Muhamadiyah.
