“…An organo-hybridization strategy can modify POM clusters with organic functional groups and create POM-based amphiphiles with tunable molecular structures and synergistic properties, which are widely applied to construct new types of hybrid materials. Among various organically modified POMs, organosilyl derivatives of lacunary Keggin-type POMs are often used to interact with other organic molecules for further supramolecular assembly owing to their high amphiphilicity, as well as good stability and hydrolysis resistance. In this work, Keggin-type SiW 11 was selected as the POM moiety since it has a high number of counterions. However, short PEG chains were selected as the polymer tails, on which chloromethyl trimethoxysilane groups were conjoined by Williamson reaction to obtain polyethylene glycol silane CH 3 (OCH 2 CH 2 ) n OCH 2 Si(OCH 3 ) 3 (PEG-Si).…”

“…This is well illustrated by the functionalization of [PW 11 O 39 ] 7− with surfactant ammonium cations, which leads to the formation of stable reverse vesicle-like supramolecular assemblies. 77 Changing the aggregation pattern is crucial for the selectivity of oxidative-catalytic properties of aggregates. Overall, the chemical approaches 9 developed for the covalent ligation of POMs can be effectively used to create a wide variety of structures.…”

“…Song and Qi et al prepared a novel zwitterionic POMs group reverse micelle by covalently grafting two cationic long alkyl tails onto the lacunary site of [PW11O39] 7− (Figure 14) [101] . A new 𝛽-hydroxyl peroxide compound of 2-hydroxyl-2-phenylethan- to produce aldehydes/ketones [102] .…”
