“…Various analytical methods have been used for EN determination such as spectrophotometric methods, 3,4 HPLC, [5][6][7][8] micellar capillary chromatography 9,10 and differential pulse polarographic methods. 11,12 Although above mentioned techniques offer a high degree of specicity, yet, sample preparation and instrumentation limitations preclude their use in routine analysis.…”

“…The chromatographic separation was achieved in a run time of 20 min and the quantitation was possible over a wide dynamic range of 0.0025-100 g/mL. Two methods based on micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography have been developed by Lehtonen et al [10,11] for the separation of two main urinary metabolites of entacapone in humans. The electropherograms in both these methods required 18 min for complete resolution of 3-O-glucuronide isomers (E and Z) of entacapone.…”

“…∆H = Ea-RT (10) ∆G = H-T ∆S (11) where h is the Planck constant, K is the Boltzmann constant and T is the temperature, A is the Arrhenius constant. The calculated kinetic parameters for ENT are also included in Table 2 It is known that the thermal decomposition of drugs is a complex process which tends to take place in many steps with different heating rates [26].…”
