“…Although CCHFV infection have been reported globally, however, most of the cases were reported from Southern and Western Asia (Blair et al, 2019). Varied level of seroprevalence observed in South Asian countries was 5.7% during 2016-17 in Pakistan (current study) and 0.5% during 2015-17 in India (Mourya et al, 2019), and in West Asian countries was 14.4% during 2012 in Turkey (Bayram et al, 2016), and 16.9% during 2011 in Iran (Mostafavi et al, 2017). Our results showed moderate level of seroprevalence in milkmen and comparatively 3 to 5 times higher in abattoir workers and animal handlers, respectively, which indicate longer length of operational activities with farm animals might increase the risks of CCHFV infection.…”

“…Serosurveys in abattoir workers reported seroprevalences ranging from 0.75% to 16.5% ( 32 , 33 ). Studies in hyperendemic territories reported seroprevalences >10% in the general population ( 34 41 ), and a study in Kosovo reported 24% seroprevalence ( 42 ).…”

“…The studies conducted in Turkey also showed high variability. Most studies showed a seroprevalence that ranged from low values (0.5% [44], 1.2% [38], 1.8% [49], 2.3% [50], and 3.7% [42]) to moderate values (9.6% [48], 10% [4], 10.9% [41], 12.8% [45], 13.6% [47], 14.4% [34], and 15.8% [37]. One study showed a much higher prevalence (19.6% [39]), but this study was performed in an endemic area in southwestern Turkey.…”
