Simultaneous Electrochemical Determination of Acetaminophen and Dopamine Based on Metal-Organic Framework/Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes-Au@Ag Nanocomposites

Abstract: In the present work, a novel and selective electrochemical sensor based on copper porphyrin metal organic frameworks (Cu-MOFs) and Au@Ag core-shell nanoparticles decorated multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) was designed for the simultaneous determination of acetaminophen (ACOP) and dopamine (DA). The fabrication strategy was accomplished via drop casting of MWCNT-Au@Ag onto the bare glassy carbon electrode (GCE) and then electrodeposition of Cu-MOF on the MWCNT-Au@Ag/GCE. By combining the high surface area (… Show more

“…The electrochemical deposition (EDS) method was proposed by many works to overcome inhomogeneous of MOF formation prepared by in situ and secondary growth method [ 129 , 130 ]. The MOF membrane generated via the EDS method could be achieved by anodic dissolution and reductive deprotonation [ 131 ].…”

“…Assuming α value as 0.5 (commonly employed) [31], the number of electrons involved in the oxidation of DA, PAR, and AML are 2, and for RSV is 1, employing the CB‐PAH/GCE. These values are according to the literature [7, 33]. The electrochemical oxidation of DA happens in both phenol groups and 2 electrons and 2 H + are released [33].…”

“…Because DA has redox activity within the electrochemical window, MOFs‐based electrochemical sensors, which generally include electrically conductive components, such as MOFs in the pristine form, [ 68a,101 ] carbon materials, [ 79,102 ] organic polymers [ 82,83,103 ] as well as metal‐related nanoparticles, [ 86,104 ] have been extensively explored for testing of DA. Thereinto, electrically conductive MOFs might be the best candidates because they inherently connect conductivity with potential active site and superior porosity, avoiding any postsynthesis modification, pyrolysis, or complicated interfacial effect of nanocomposites.…”
