Strategies for Managing Barriers to the Writing Process

Abstract: Publication is essential to advancing nursing knowledge for clinical practice, but relatively few nurses publish the results of their research or other writings about clinical practice issues. APPNs seeking articles on this topic must turn to general nursing resources (Oermann, 2001; Wills, 2000), or other nursing specialties (Wink, 2002), and other disciplines (Karsh & Fox, 2003; Rheingold, 1994; Thyer, 2002) for direction.
