Study of carbon nanotube embedded honey as a resistive switching material

Abstract: In this paper, natural organic honey embedded with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) was studied as a resistive switching material for biodegradable nonvolatile memory in emerging neuromorphic systems. CNTs were dispersed in a honey-water solution with the concentration of 0.2 wt% CNT and 30 wt% honey. The final honey-CNT-water mixture was spin-coated and dried into a thin film sandwiched in between Cu bottom electrode and Al top electrode to form a honey-CNT based resistive switching memory (RSM). “…This has been proven to be feasible and effective in honey‐memristors. [ 17 ] When carbon nanotubes (CNT) were added in the honey film, both resistive switching speed and stability in SET and RESET processes of honey‐CNT memristor were improved. [ 17 ] However, synaptic behaviors of honey‐CNT memristors have not been reported.…”

“…Although the use of carbon nanotubes as a functional layer for memristors has been shown to be a viable option [39][40][41], whether carbon nanotubes can serve as carriers for ZnO NPs to enhance the dominant mechanism for conductivity depends on their ability to create oxygen vacancy conducting path. Therefore their true viability remains unclear.…”
