“…There are many causative reasons by which SP E may stimulate growth enhancement, some of which inhibit the activity of the myostatin protein whereby, increasing an elevated hyperplasia and hypertrophy rate in the muscle fibre area (Ramazanov et al, 2003). Some authors pointed out that SP E leads to higher activities of digestive enzymes in aquatic animals, whereby accretion digestion, absorption and feed utilisation (Fabrini et al, 2017; Ramazanov et al, 2003). “…Recent research on brown seaweeds has demonstrated beneficial effects of biologically active metabolites in Nile tilapia. Some of these metabolites and effects can be summarized as follows: (a) Effect on nonspecific immune response, disease resistance, and growth performance of low molecular weight sodium alginate (Van Doan et al, 2016); (b) prebiotic effect on growth performance (Van Doan et al, 2016); (c) improved carcass yield (Costa et al, 2013); (d) sodium alginate source for textural feed properties (Van Doan et al, 2017); (e) low‐fat food products with fewer calories and less saturated fatty acids (Roohinejad et al, 2017); and (f) sulfated polysaccharides in the initial growth phase (Fabrini et al, 2017).
