RESUMOEste estudo avaliou fatores individuais, rela vos ao trabalho e organizacionais relacionados à adesão às precauções-padrão por profissionais de enfermagem que atuam em terapia intensiva. Estudo de corte transversal, realizado com 178 profi ssionais em um hospital de grande porte. Para a coleta de dados foram utilizadas escalas psicométricas do po Likert. Na Escala de Adesão às precauções-padrão obteve-se um escore de 4,45 (DP=0,27) classifi cado como intermediário. Houve correlação quando comparada com fatores individuais para Escala de Personalidade de Risco (r=-0,169; p=0,024) e fatores relativos ao trabalho com a Escala de Obstáculos para seguir as precauções-padrão (r=-0,359; p=0,000). A adesão às precauções-padrão entre profi ssionais de enfermagem foi intermediária. Fatores individuais e rela vos ao trabalho infl uenciaram a adesão às precauções-padrão. Objectives: To investigate and describe the occurrence and characteristics of Work Incidents (WI) with Potentially Contaminated Biological Material (PCBM), the frequency and variables related to this occurrence among nursing categories. Methods: A descriptive and cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach was performed at a referral hospital in the State of Mato Grosso, Mid-Western Brazil. Results: Women represented 90.5% of all participants and the mean age was 42.59 years. A total of 46.6% of professionals reported having undergone exposure to PCBM, 60.9% stated not having made a report, and 42.6% reported having participated in training courses on this subject. Comparing the occurrence of WI between nursing assistants and nurses, nursing assistants were more affected (p = 0.022). Conclusions: Among nursing professionals, the number of WI is high, recurrent and underreported. Continuing education on this theme is required to ensure the quality of care and promote workers' health.

Objective: mapping necessary competencies in managerial nursing training.Method: a cross-sectional study conducted between March and June 2013 with 258 students from three Higher Education Institutions of a municipality in the South of Brazil.Results: mapping made it possible to identify necessary competencies for managerial nursing training, including those acquired and gaps. The relative majority of the students considered having the right attitude to act as a nurse in the managerial dimension; however, significant gaps during their training were identified in managerial competencies of supervision, auditing and change processes. MAPEAMENTO DE COMPETÊNCIAS: GAPS IDENTIFICADOS NA FORMAÇÃO GERENCIAL DO ENFERMEIRO RESUMOObjetivo: mapear as competências necessárias para a formação gerencial do enfermeiro.Método: estudo de corte transversal realizado entre março e junho de 2013 com 258 discentes de três Instituições de Ensino Superior de um município do Sul do Brasil.Resultados: o mapeamento possibilitou a identificação das competências gerenciais necessárias à formação, as adquiridas e as lacunas. A maioria relativa dos discentes considerou ter atitude para atuar como enfermeiro na dimensão gerencial, entretanto, para as competências gerenciais de supervisão, auditoria e processos de mudança, identificaram-se gaps significativos durante sua formação.Conclusão: este mapeamento fornece subsídios ao planejamento pedagógico, com vistas a promover a apreensão de competências gerenciais durante a graduação. La mayoría relativa de los estudiantes considera que poseen la actitud para actuar como enfermeros en la dimensión de gestión, sin embargo, para la gestión de los procesos de supervisión, auditoría y de cambio, identifican algunas lagunas importantes en su educación.Conclusión: este mapeo proporciona subsidios para la planificación educativa, con el fin de promover la detención de las capacidades de gestión durante el grado.
