Abstract

Synthesis of 1,2,4‐Benzotriazine‐3‐acetates and ‐acetamides Substituted 1,2,4‐benzotriazine‐3‐acetates 6 are prepared by the reduction of (2‐nitrophenyl)hydrazonoethers 4 or (2‐nitrophenyl)amidrazones 5. The 1,2,4‐benzotriazin‐3‐ylacet‐anilid 9g forms a yellow azomethine dye 10 by oxidative coupling with N,N‐diethyl‐p‐phenylenediamine.
