“…However, all the characteristic peaks of UiO-66-NH 2 remained in ZIF-8-loaded UiO-66-NH 2 and both showed a similar pattern of FTIR spectrum. In addition, two characteristic absorption bands of ZIF-8 at 3135 and 2929 cm −1 corresponding to stretching vibration of aromatic and aliphatic C–H, respectively, also appeared, indicating the successful loading of ZIF-8 in the UiO-66-NH 2 [28]. To determine the loading amount of ZIF-8, semi-quantitative analysis of FTIR with 3135 and 1500 cm −1 peaks of ZIF-8 and UiO-66-NH 2 , respectively, was performed (Figure 2b) and found that the ZIF-8 content increased in the UiO-66-NH 2 on increasing the number of loading cycles.…”

“…However, the new absorption peaks for the vibration of aromatic ring of MB at 890 cm −1 and 1600 cm −1 could be clearly observed [52], which showed that the MB was immobilized on surface of ZIF-8-loaded UiO-66-NH 2 . The peaks at 1571 cm −1 (C=O), 1257 cm −1 (C–N), and 426 cm −1 (Zn–N) of ZIF-8-loaded UiO-66-NH 2 shifted and showed a significant decrease in intensity after MB adsorption [28,53,54]. This could be explained by the following assumptions: (i) MB, a cationic dye, is more inclined to be absorbed on negatively charged surfaces by electrostatic interaction.…”

“…It is well known that synthesis conditions have a signicant effect on ZIF crystal morphology, size, and topology. 26 Solvent selection, 33 precursor ratios, 34 reaction temperature, 35 and reaction time 36 have all been shown to play a central role in the ZIF crystallization process. ZIF-L crystals made in DI water have for example been shown to convert into ZIF-8 crystals, simply by suspending them in ethanol for 8 hours at 60 C. 30 Any or all of these factors could be responsible for our reaction having yielded a ZIF-L rather than a ZIF-8 crystal structure.…”

“…Besides the solvent, other reaction parameters, such as the activity of reactants, the molar ratio between precursors, the stirring speed, the reaction temperature, and the reaction time, can also affect the size and morphology of ZIF-8 particles, resulting in either the promotion of nucleation or crystal growth. , Increasing the molar ratio of 2-methylimidazole (2-mim) to zinc ions (Zn 2+ ) could greatly promote the rapid nucleation of ZIF-8. Consequently, a larger amount of nuclei are produced, thus resulting in smaller particles with a narrow size distribution. ,, Meanwhile, a low temperature is conducive to the formation of nuclei and the inhibition of crystal growth, both of which can improve the size uniformity of ZIF-8 nanoparticles . A suitable stirring speed promotes the nucleation and the formation of the as-synthesized ZIF-8, thus providing a narrow particle size distribution .…”
